This place suits me perfectly, offering great wi-fi, free parking, and a 24-hour reception. The staff helped me find tasty food on my first stay, which I remember fondly. Highly recommend checking out the bar lounge area!

I enjoyed my stay with a delicious dinner and friendly staff, making my visit even more pleasant as I explored the nearby Grimsby Minster and the Victoria Flour Mill, both just a short walk away, adding to the charm of my weekend adventure.

Excellent location right in the heart of town, with free parking available . Rooms contain standard amenities like tea-making facilities.
The decor in the rooms leans heavily toward the outdated side and could use a good refresh-threadbare carpets and worn furnishings detract from the overall ambiance. Breakfast options had potential, but items like pastries looked stale and were clearly not replenished, leaving a bit to be desired. The shower temperature was tricky to manage, and the TV remote was missing a cover and had dead batteries. Rooms can get warm as there's no air conditioning, although the supplied fan was a welcome relief.

Totally decent stay for wedding. Lovely beds in our twin/double room. Hot and satisfactory breakfast and excellent views. Brilliant location, just a pleasant stroll away from Freshney Place Shopping Centre. Simple check-out.

Excellent value for money as a double ensuite room. Clean, adequate size. Lift in operation. Plenty of car parking available.
Pleasant staff on reception. Given a warm welcome. Checking out procedure smooth. Easy access to nightlife and shopping via walkway alongside Grimsby Minster.
Main entrance to car park and into the hotel was difficult to find. Not well signposted despite the hotel being clearly visible! At traffic lights on the dual carriageway visitors need to turn left and negotiate a small mini roundabout to enter the hotel carpark on the right. The traffic light road sign indicates only the entrance to Freshney Place parking and the Market for deliveries only. No mention of access to St James Hotel car park. We missed it 3 times and went round in a big circle each time before realising what we needed to do.

I found the hotel to look very dated and worn. The room itself smelt Musty and un used, the bed was uncomfortable and bedding cheapam I could hear everything from other rooms bathroom fans to people walking Talking outside. I did not utilise the catering facilities as I was Informed they were not good so I can't personally comment. The staff however seemed friendly.

Had a blast with friends exploring the local attractions and checking out Cleethorpes beach. Rooms were well-kept, and the location allowed us easy access to shops and nightlife. The staff were friendly, and breakfast was decent, though a bit busy at times. Definitely planning to return!

This is the only hotel in Grimsby, so if you have to stay in the city, you don't have a lot of options. The dated decor (1970s) is sort of charming to me, but that may just be me. The ladies at the hotel desk were very friendly and helpful and the location is right in the center of all Grimsby has to offer.
The evening manager was a little less friendly to one of our party
